Pricing: Driveways typically $3–$6/sqft depending on length, depth, and base prep. Recycled asphalt $5–$8/sqft.
Gravel work looks simple from the road. Done badly it ruts, washes out, and needs re-grading every spring. We install gravel driveways and outbuilding pads across rural west-central Minnesota — from Long Prairie acreages to Perham lake properties — with proper sub-base, drainage grading, and fabric that actually keeps the material in place.
What we do
- New driveway installation — site clearing, sub-base prep, geotextile, class-5 or RAP placement, compaction, crown grading
- Outbuilding pads — for sheds, pole barns, RV storage, equipment yards
- Driveway resurfacing — adding fresh material and re-grading existing driveways
- Drainage corrections — culverts, swales, drain tile when the existing setup is failing
We bring our own equipment and source material from regional pits — no middlemen markup on the gravel itself.

Common questions
- Class 5 vs recycled asphalt?
- Class 5 is the cheaper, classic gravel — packs hard, drains well, needs occasional grading. Recycled asphalt (RAP) packs harder, sheds water better, looks more like a paved surface, and stays put longer. Costs ~50% more.
- How thick should my driveway be?
- Residential driveways: 4–6 inches of compacted base over geotextile fabric. Heavier-use pads (RVs, equipment storage): 6–8 inches.
- Will it wash out?
- Not if it's installed right. We grade for drainage, install fabric to keep base material from sinking into clay subsoil, and crown driveways slightly so water sheds to the sides.
- How much does a gravel driveway cost?
- A 200-foot rural driveway typically runs $3,600–$7,200 installed, depending on width, depth, and how much sub-base prep is needed. We source material from regional pits — no middlemen markup on gravel.
- Do you haul away the old material?
- Yes — if you're replacing an old failed driveway, demo and haul-away are included in the estimate.
- Do you serve rural properties in Douglas, Todd, and Otter Tail counties?
- Yes — most of our gravel work is on rural acreages and farm properties around Long Prairie, Perham, Osakis, Eagle Bend, Parkers Prairie, Browerville, and New York Mills. Free site visit for properties in the service area.
- How long does a gravel driveway last?
- A properly installed gravel driveway lasts 10–15 years with minimal maintenance — occasional grading or top-dressing every few years. Skimping on base depth or fabric is what causes premature failure.
